What is the difference between Exercise Physiology & Physiotherapy?

It's better to be informed than to be sold to about your health. Ok, they are both health professionals. But what is the difference?


Both Physiotherapists and Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEPs) are university-qualified allied health professionals. AEPs are specialists in movement and exercise for the management and prevention of chronic diseases, injuries, and other complex medical conditions.



Accredited Exercise Physiologists


AEPs are often trained to treat conditions like heart disease, diabetes, and mental illness.


They have extensive experience and knowledge in the delivery of clinical exercise and counselling on health-behaviour changes for those with chronic conditions or injuries. This is what makes them different from other allied healthcare professionals.


As an accredited exercise physiologist, there are many opportunities. There are many industries and organizations that employ exercise physiologists.
